Skyline-Akron shadow borderInfo Line is Summit County's 24-hour community information and referral service, answering 75,000 incoming calls annually to link people in need of services with the providers of such services.

Since its incorporation as a nonprofit in 1975, its central purpose has been to provide access to human service delivery for people in need.  Info Line is one of the first three agencies in the state of Ohio fully accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems , the international professional organization for the field of information and referral.

 

Info Line's other major programs include:

Child Care Connection: Assists parents in securing child care resources and offers training and technical assistance for early childhood personnel as well as family child care providers.

MedAssist: Helps uninsured, low-income Summit County residents to access free and low-cost prescription medications.

Lifeline: Offers an emergency response monitoring service for frail elderly and otherswith serious life-threatening health conditions.

Project Connect: Provides technology training and technical assistance program to help not-for-profit organizations make more effective use of computer, telecommunication and internet technology.

HMIS: Maintains a community database used to collect data about homeless services in Akron and Summit County. Provides technical support, training, and networking for participating agencies.

Community Voice Mail: Helps people living in poverty, transition and homelessness rebuild their lives by connecting them to jobs, housing, information and hope.

Home Again / HPRP: Provides temporary financial assistance and housing relocation and stabilization services to those individuals and families who are homeless or would be homeless but for this assistance.

 

Accreditation

AIRSsmallInfo Line is accredited by the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS).  AIRS Accreditation assesses the ability of an Information &Referral program to demonstrate full compliance with the AIRS Standards for Professional Information and Referral. It is the primary quality assurance mechanism for gauging Information & Referral excellence.  Accreditation is a multi-phase process that assesses more than 200 distinct operational components and culminates in a detailed onsite review.
