October 18th is Homeless
Awareness Day
Tragically today, a decent, safe and
affordable home is out of reach for far too many working
Americans. More than 15 million low-income families struggle
to pay rent, live in run down housing or are homeless.
Moreover, many economic analysts project that most Americans
are one to three months away from homelessness.
All across the nation there is a movement
gaining momentum to end homelessness in ten years. Fueled by
the pervasiveness of homelessness, the complexity of the
attendant issues and the financial constraints placed on
already taxed social services delivery systems, initiatives
have begun in communities throughout the United States to
effectively address homelessness. In addition there is
pending legislation on federal and state levels that will
directly impact low income and homeless persons.
Please join us for HOMELESS AWARENESS
DAY, Friday, October 18, 2002 at Haven of Rest
Ministries, 175 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44303 from
10:00 AM to Noon. This event is free and open to the public.

Did
you know ...
Nothing is more
time-consuming than having to select one item at a time
when you are working with multiple e-mails, icons on your
desktop, drawing elements, etc. So ...
PC TIP #5
Introduction
to Computers 2: Increasing Your Efficiency
Use the [Shift] and [Ctrl]
keys on your keyboard to select multiple items.
 |
If the items are in a
list, click on the first item. Scroll down to the
last item, hold the [Shift] key down, and click.
This will select all the items in the range you
selected. (This is very helpful when managing your
e-mail in Outlook!) |
 |
If you want to select
only certain items in a list (for example, the
third, fifth, and seventh), hold the [Ctrl] key down
and click on the ones you want.
|
 |
To click on multiple
objects in a document (such as several pieces of
clip art), click on the first, hold down the [Shift]
key, and then click on all the rest. When all have
been highlighted, you can move, copy, or delete
them. |
